Photos of Pagan Sites

Back in march 2004, long before I converted, I got a chance to see some of Britain's oldest sites.



I just got around to posting pics from my trip to Flickr. Included in this set (in order) are the chalk horse at Uffington, the Ridgeway, Weyland's Smithy Longbarrow, Silbury Hill, West Kennet Longbarrow, and the stone circle at Avebury.

Also, around March 2005 I took a trip to the New Forest (very near where Gerald Gardner formed his first coven). At the time, I didn't know much about the place, but I spent my spring break there because I felt drawn to it.

Very nice pictures, thanks for sharing them with us. I'd love to visit a place like that someday, I love old churches and graveyards, not sure why.

I can recommend a few old churches and graveyards in various places if you like seeing these.

St. Wulfram's- Grantham, Lincs. UK- Medieval, with a knight's tomb inside the sanctuary and some heraldic banners inside, plus an elizabethan library with books chained to the shelf. Charleston, SC USA- There are dozens of old graveyards in this city. For a beautifully overgrown one, try the Unitarian Church. Other church yards (such as St. Michaels) feature headstones dating to the 1690s, some of the oldest in America. Mt. Holly Cemetery, Little Rock, AR- about 10 minutes drive from me! This early 19th century cemetery is said to be haunted. Among those buried here are the original "Arkansas Traveller," Edward Payson Washburn. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1d/Mount_Holly_Cemetary_1.jpg
